About Coaching
-
Coaching is a positive and developmental practice that helps you move from where you are to where you want to be. Unlike other helping professions, the coach does not diagnose a problem (therapy/counseling), fix what’s broken or wrong (consulting), or tell you what was done in a similar situation (mentoring). A coach is a collaborative partner working with you to strategize and explore a way forward that may include new experiences, new learnings, and meaningful outcomes.
-
The client/coach relationship is a collaborative partnership. The coach is not the authority in the client’s life. And the coach does not have answers for the client’s life. But the coach will faithfully pursue answers, clarity and direction with the client and for the clients’s life. The client sets the agenda for each call by completing preparation questions before a scheduled appointment. The client is responsible for decisions made and actions taken as a result of the coaching calls.
-
The focus of coaching could include any of the following: leadership skills, life skills, prioritization, communication skills, life and business goals, problem-solving, decision-making, financial management, life purpose work, vision for the future, transitions, boundaries, limiting beliefs, negotiations, and relationship skills.
