Coaching Contract for Parent Sponsors
Following are a few guidelines to make the working relationship as productive as possible. If you have questions, please ask.
Coach: Jenn Nickel
Client: The adult (or minor) child who receives coaching and is being sponsored by the parent.
Sponsor: The individual or entity who funds the coaching engagement and has a vested interest in its outcomes.
Communication: Coach/Client communication is confidential; therefore, it is the Client’s responsibility to keep the Sponsor in the loop on progress during the coaching engagement. The Sponsor can check in with the Coach at a high level, but details and specifics will ultimately be communicated from the Client to the Sponsor.
Procedure: Scheduled video or phone sessions need to begin on time and are 50 minutes each. The Client should complete the preparation questions (provided by the Coach) prior to each session. This allows Coach and Client to be as prepared and focused as possible to make the best use of time.
Sessions: This agreement includes 2 sessions each month. If either party is unable to keep a regularly scheduled session, best efforts will be made to reschedule.
Changes: Cancellations need to be made at least 24 hours in advance. If an emergency causes a missed call, best efforts will be made to reschedule. Otherwise missed sessions are not made up or refunded.
Extra time: Clients are encouraged to contact the Coach between scheduled sessions by email or short phone calls (~5 minutes) with questions, struggles, thoughts, progress reports, or just to touch base. These contacts are included in the monthly fee.
Fees: A debit card, credit card or bank account information will be provided to the Coach to be charged at the start of each month based on the meeting schedule that month. Receipts can be emailed upon request.
Follow through: The Coach typically works with clients for a minimum of 6 months. It is imperative that the Client applies him/herself if coaching is to be successful. The work will be purposeful, goal-directed and sometimes dependent on the Client doing some homework. Coaching can also be very broad in scope, requiring reflection and thought about desires, decisions and goals for the Client’s life. The real growth will come from the work done in the time between sessions. The Coach does not have the answers, but will walk faithfully with the Client to seek them.
